In mid-February, the Women In Trucking Radio Show highlighted an initiative that the Women In Trucking Association launched in a strategic partnership with Expediter Services last fall. Women In Trucking President and CEO Ellen Voie, who serves as the host for the Women In Trucking Radio Show on SiriusXM, devoted the February 17th edition of her program to discuss the 150 Business Challenge – an initiative that has created a strategic partnership between Women In Trucking and Expediter Services.
The goal of the 150 Business Challenge is to assist in establishing 150 new women-owned small businesses within in the transportation sector over the next 12 months. Through this program, Expediter Services has established a platform to offer accessible financing as well as operational and business support for women interested in entering the trucking industry. In utilizing infrastructure developed through the expertise of Expediter Services, women who are interested in learning about and growing within the trucking industry will have the opportunity to establish their own small businesses as owner-operators and fleet owners in a market that now has a driver shortage approaching 50,000, according to the latest industry estimates.
During the Feb. 17 edition of the Women In Trucking Radio Show, host Ellen Voie welcomed Jason Williams and Jeff Tacker of Expediter Services to discuss the Business 150 Challenge in detail. Jason is the Co-Founder and President of Expediter Services, and Jeff is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Amy Williams, a fleet owner who became one of the first participants in the Business 150 Challenge program, also joins Ellen as a guest on this edition of the Women In Trucking Radio Show.
