Expediter Services, a leader in capacity solutions and ownership opportunities within the trucking industry, will be serving as the title sponsor of the 18th Annual Expedite Expo, which will be held July 20-21 in Lexington, Ky. Hosted by On Time Media, the Expedite Expo is the largest trade show of its kind, bringing together expediters from across North America and offering a platform for attendees to learn about career opportunities, the latest advancements in equipment as well as products geared specifically for owner-operators, contractors and drivers of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks.
The Expedite Expo will be held at the Lexington Center, which is also the home of Rupp Arena and the Lexington Hyatt Regency Hotel.
As the title sponsor of the event, Expediter Services (ES) will be highly visible at the Expedite Expo. ES will have the largest booth area on the main floor and the company has also reserved an area in the main parking lot for its truck sales display. Once again, Expediter Services will be hosting the Summer ES Group Gathering, an annual event that has become known as “The EGG at the Expo.”
The EGG at the Expo will take place on Friday, July 20th, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Regency Ballroom at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington. Open to all current and prospective qualified contractors, the EGG at the Expo provides attendees with an informal setting where they can get to know members of the Expediter Services team, hear informative updates on the latest trends in trucking and get an introduction to the programs available through ES. Attendees at the EGG in Lexington will hear an overview of the truck ownership opportunities offered with financing at competitive market rates. They will also learn about the wide range of support services available through ES, including some of the largest discounts on fuel and other services as well as information on the business services that ES can provide.
“ The Expedite Expo is one of the most important events of the year for the entire ES Team. On Time Media has done a great job over the years of development of an event that has valuable programming for professional contract drivers, owner-operators, fleet owners, expedited carriers and the supporting services offered within our industry. If you want to get the latest information first-hand on expediting, the Expedite Expo is definitely worth your time and the trip to Lexington,” said Expediter Services President Jason Williams. “The Expedite Expo is the perfect size for exhibitors and attendees, and Expediter Services is thrilled to once again be the title sponsor for the event. Over the years, we have really valued the opportunities to get to know people who have visited our booth and everyone who has joined us for the EGG at the Expo dinners. We can look back and see that many of the relationships that Expediter Services has built over the years with the people in our program began at the Expedite Expo.”
One of the programs slated to be in the spotlight during the 2018 edition of the Expo will be the 150 Business Challenge, which is a collaboration between the Women In Trucking Association and Expediter Services to encourage the growth of women-owned businesses in transportation. During the Expedite Expo, attendees can discuss the 150 Business Challenge with the Expediter Services Team, and they will also have the opportunity to meet Ellen Voie, President and CEO of the Women In Trucking Association. Voie will be overseeing the Women In Trucking booth and she will also be a part of some panel discussions during the Expedite Expo.
The 150 Business Challenge is working to assist with the start-up and growth of 150 new women-owned trucking businesses. The program is also designed to assist in adding much-needed truck capacity to a busy freight market. Among the more than 30 new women-owned businesses started through the program thus far, many of the participants are working in the expedited sector. Participants in the 150 Business Challenge also have the option of going into general trucking through the ES platform SuccessInTrucking.com. Forward Air and Panther Premium Logistics, a Service of ArcBest, are the participating carriers in the program, offering consistent freight opportunities to entrepreneurs in the 150 Business Challenge.
Similar to the other truck ownership programs offered through Expediter Services, participants in the 150 Business Challenge have access to competitive market-rate financing, a broad range of new equipment choices and fuel discounts. ES also provides participants with industry-leading support, featuring a maintenance program and operational expertise as well as back-office services and business planning assistance.
“The 150 Business Challenge has continued to gain greater interest across the industry in both the expedited sector and general trucking through SuccessInTrucking.com. We are looking forward talking to people in person about the 150 Business Challenge and all the offerings that ES has available during the Expedite Expo,” said Williams. “Most of all, we are looking forward to meeting new people who are coming to the Expo for the first time and to seeing the familiar faces who will be returning to the Expo. It’s going to be a lot fun.”
